Crustello: By Bakers, for Bakers

Crustello Smart Bowl

About Us

We’ve always loved making things better—whether it’s a lap time on the track or a pizza in the oven.

Some of you might know us as the creators of RaceBox, the high-precision GPS performance tracker used by hundreds of thousands of people in more than 110 countries. RaceBox is all about telemetry—capturing real-time data, making sense of it, and helping people perform at their best.

One day, while baking at home, we realized we had the same problem in the kitchen that we’d solved on the race track: a lack of data. We could measure flour, water, and temperature, but when it came to fermentation—the most crucial part of bread-making—it was all guesswork.

No matter how much pizza, bread, focaccia, or sourdough we baked, fermentation was a black box. We’d poke the dough, sniff it, and hope for the best. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn’t. We knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when it clicked: What if we could make telemetry for dough?

Two years of prototyping, testing, and countless loaves later, we built Crustello—a smart dough bowl that measures, tracks, and interprets the life inside your dough in real time. Just like RaceBox helps drivers understand their car and the track, Crustello helps bakers understand their dough and fermentation.

It’s not just a gadget—it’s your co-pilot in baking. It tells you when your dough is ready, takes the guesswork out of timing, and helps you achieve consistent, flawless results whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned baker chasing perfection.

We built it because we wished we had it when we started—and now we can’t wait to see what you create with it.
